Synopsis
The story of Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 1 follows Will Serfort, a young boy who made a solemn childhood promise to his dearest friend, Elfaria Alvis. They vowed to climb the towering magical monolith together and become "Magia Vander," the elite protectors of the world who sit at the very top of the magical hierarchy. Years later, Elfaria has already achieved this legendary status as the youngest Magia Vander in history, ruling over ice magic. Meanwhile, Will is stuck at the bottom, struggling as a student at the Regarden Magical Academy. In a society where magic is absolute, Will cannot cast even the simplest spell, making him the target of relentless bullying, mockery, and systemic discrimination from both his peers and his instructors.
To compensate for his lack of magical power, Will spends his days venturing deep into the Academy's dangerous dungeon, hunting magical beasts to earn credits through physical combat. Armed with a heavy black sword and possessing superhuman reflexes, speed, and analytical skills, Will secretly refines his swordsmanship to an unmatched degree. While his classmates rely on incantations, Will relies on muscle memory, tactical genius, and sheer willpower. His unique talents catch the eye of his supportive homeroom teacher, Workner Norgram, but draw the ire of Professor Edward Serfence, a strict traditionalist determined to expel Will for his lack of magical aptitude.
As the academic year progresses, Will is forced to participate in high-stakes practical exams and competitive events, such as the Magic Grand Festival.
