Overview
In a sprawling universe where advanced technology meets ancient magic, I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire follows the journey of a man who, after being betrayed and losing everything in his previous life, is reborn into a high-tech noble family. Convinced by a mysterious entity known as the Guide that his previous kindness was his downfall, the protagonist, Liam Sera Banfield, vows to become a ruthless, cold-hearted tyrant. He aims to live a life of luxury and absolute authority, where he exploits others before they can exploit him. The setting is a grand intergalactic stage filled with massive starships, sentient AI, and powerful humanoid mecha known as Mobile Knights. Despite his best efforts to be "evil," Liam’s modern sense of efficiency and his disdain for genuine corruption often result in him accidentally improving the lives of his subjects, creating a comedic irony where he is hailed as a saintly ruler while he believes he is a terrifying villain. The series blends high-octane space battles with political intrigue and isekai tropes, focusing on Liam’s growth as a pilot of the legendary black mecha, Avid, and his unintended rise to power within a corrupt Imperial system. Visuals emphasize the contrast between the cold metallic surfaces of space stations and the opulent, almost medieval aesthetics of the imperial nobility, creating a unique sci-fi atmosphere where laser swords and kinetic cannons decide the fate of entire star systems.
Synopsis
The story begins with the reincarnation of an ordinary man into the Banfield noble family, a house on the brink of ruin due to massive debts and a desolate territory. Liam, the young heir, is visited by the Guide, a malicious being who feeds on human suffering and intends to watch Liam fail and suffer once more. However, Liam interprets the Guide's presence as a blessing and resolves to be a tyrant to avoid being a victim. He spends his youth training in the One Flash sword style under a master he believes is a legendary warrior, though the master is actually a fraud; miraculously, Liam’s sheer dedication allows him to master the impossible techniques anyway.
After reaching adulthood, Liam takes over the Banfield domain. To fund his future life of luxury, he ruthlessly purges the corrupt officials and space pirates who have been leeching off his lands. He invests heavily in planetary infrastructure and technology, not out of kindness, but to ensure his "possessions" are more valuable and productive. To the Guide’s horror, Liam’s "evil" deeds—such as executing corrupt tax collectors and building schools to create a smarter workforce—lead to a golden age of prosperity for his people.
As Liam enters the Imperial Academy to solidify his status, he encounters Rosetta, a noblewoman from a fallen house whom he intends to torment, only to accidentally save her and earn her undying loyalty. He also acquires Avid, an ancient and overpowered black Mobile Knight, which he uses to decimate a massive pirate fleet sent by the Guide to destroy him. Throughout the season, Liam clashes with rival nobles and hidden assassins, winning every encounter through a combination of overwhelming mecha power and his misunderstood "tyrannical" philosophy. The season reaches its climax when the Guide orchestrates a massive uprising and a pirate invasion aimed at the Banfield home world. Liam, piloting Avid, unleashes the true power of the One Flash style in a breathtaking vacuum-space battle, obliterating the enemy fleet. The season concludes with Liam standing as one of the most powerful and respected lords in the Empire, frustrated that everyone views him as a benevolent hero while he continues to plot his next move to become the ultimate "Evil Lord."
