Synopsis
Following the bittersweet resolution of their previous endeavors, Jogoro Kobato and Yuki Osanai find themselves drifting into the autumn semester with their "shoshimin" pact facing its greatest strain yet. Having temporarily distanced themselves to reflect on their codependent dynamic, the two attempt to walk separate paths of ordinariness. However, the quiet town they inhabit refuses to remain still.
The narrative centers on the "Autumn-Limited Kuri Kintan Case," where a series of mysterious arsons begins to plague the local neighborhood. Jogoro, joining the school newspaper club in an effort to blend in, is tasked with writing an article about these incidents. His natural, sharp deductive skills—which he desperately tries to suppress—are instantly triggered as he begins to notice patterns in the fires.
