Synopsis
The story picks up in the immediate aftermath of the initial clashes between Iska and Alice. While the two warriors continue to meet in secret under the guise of rivalry, a new player enters the board: Sisbell Lou Nebulis, Alice’s younger sister. Sisbell, who possesses the unique astral power to see into the past, has uncovered a terrifying conspiracy within the Sovereignty. She seeks Iska’s help, believing that his sense of justice is the only thing that can protect her as she attempts to expose a traitorous faction. This creates a tense dynamic as Alice becomes jealous and protective, leading to a three-way entanglement of duty and emotion. Meanwhile, within the Heavenly Empire, the higher-ups are growing suspicious of Iska’s perceived leniency toward the "Witch of Ice." The Eight Great Apostles begin deploying more ruthless Saint Disciples to the front lines, including those who care little for civilian casualties or honorable combat. As Iska and his unit, Squad 907, are sent on a mission to investigate a mysterious astral energy spike, they find themselves caught in a trap set by the Zoa family, a radical sect within the Sovereignty that wishes to escalate the war to its ultimate conclusion. Lord Mask of the Zoa family orchestrates a coup attempt, aiming to overthrow the current Queen and install a more aggressive regime.
