Synopsis
The narrative begins with a sudden, devastatingly coordinated global assault by Amalgam against Mithril's key bases and communication networks. In Japan, Sousuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori find themselves directly targeted by Amalgam operatives led by the ruthless Kurama. Despite Sousuke's tactical brilliance, Jindai High School becomes a war zone, forcing the duo to flee. Simultaneously, Mithril's primary submarine base on Merida Island is heavily bombarded, leaving Captain Teletha "Tessa" Testarossa and the crew of the Tuatha De Danaan fighting a desperate defensive battle against overwhelming forces, including advanced Behemoth-class Arm Slaves.
As the situation in Japan escalates, Leonard Testarossa, Tessa's estranged brother and a high-ranking Amalgam leader, personally confronts Kaname. Realizing that her friends and Sousuke will be relentlessly hunted and killed if she resists, Kaname makes the heartbreaking decision to willingly surrender herself to Leonard in exchange for their safety. A devastated and severely injured Sousuke is left behind, powerless to stop her abduction. With Mithril effectively dismantled and its surviving members scattered across the globe, Sousuke refuses to give up. He embarks on a solitary, obsessive quest across the world to find and rescue Kaname.
Sousuke's journey leads him to the lawless Southeast Asian city of Namsac, where he participates in illegal, underground Arm Slave arena battles to gather intelligence on Amalgam's whereabouts. Operating under an alias, he partners with Nami, a passionate local mechanic who manages a small arena team. Sousuke's combat expertise quickly elevates their team, but his actions draw the attention of Amalgam's local network. The situation turns tragic when Kurama orchestrates an ambush, resulting in the destruction of the arena and the brutal death of Nami. Fueled by grief and rage, Sousuke hunts down and kills Kurama, securing vital information about where Kaname is being held.
Meanwhile, Tessa and the surviving crew of the Tuatha De Danaan regroup and transition into a guerrilla resistance force, executing precise counter-strikes against Amalgam. Sousuke eventually reunites with his Mithril allies, including Al, the artificial intelligence of his destroyed ARX-7 Arbalest. With the help of Mithril's remaining resources, Al is integrated into a newly developed, monstrously powerful Arm Slave: the ARX-8 Laevatein. Unlike its predecessor, the Laevatein is designed purely for destructive combat, sacrificing operational runtime for overwhelming firepower and an advanced Lambda Driver.
The season reaches its climax as Sousuke, piloting the Laevatein, launches a daring assault on an Amalgam stronghold. Engaging in a fierce, high-speed battle against Amalgam's elite pilots, Sousuke unleashes the full, terrifying potential of his new machine. Though Kaname remains in Leonard's custody, her resolve remains unbroken as she secretly works to aid Sousuke from within. The season concludes with Mithril's surviving forces united and Sousuke declaring his unwavering vow to tear down Amalgam and finally bring Kaname home, setting the stage for the ultimate final battle.
