Yowayowa Sensei Season 1 is a 12-episode romantic comedy anime produced by Brain's Base that originally aired from April to June 2026. Animated under the direction of Hiroshi Ishiodori, the show adapts the popular school-life manga by Kamio Fukuchi. It combines slice-of-life humor, intense character misunderstandings, and a highly playful, ecchi comedic style centered around a severe case of "gap moe".
Synopsis
The story focuses on Hiyori Hiwamura, a 22-year-old, newly graduated English teacher who takes over a second-year high school homeroom. Due to her extreme social anxiety, frail stamina, and a quiet voice, her awkward coping mechanisms drastically backfire. She accidentally creates an intimidating aura, leading her students to label her as "Kowakowa Sensei" (Scary Teacher) and spread rumors that she curses people.
The truth is discovered by her student Akihito Abikura, who witnesses her secretly practicing her teaching skills alone in an empty classroom using stuffed animals. Recognizing that his teacher is actually incredibly sweet, dedicated, and helplessly fragile, Akihito steps in to help her build confidence and correct her reputation. As they work together, Akihito constantly finds himself trapped in absurd, heart-pounding, and unintentionally suggestive situations caused by Hiyori’s clumsy nature.
