Synopsis
The story takes place years after the golden age of Kakegawa High School’s soccer club, a period once defined by the miraculous play of Yoshiharu Kubo. In the present day, the school's soccer team has become a forgotten relic, lacking both spirit and victories. Hideto Tsuji, a student with a complicated relationship with the sport, goes out of his way to avoid soccer entirely until a chance encounter with Atsushi Kamiya changes everything. Kamiya, a former Kakegawa captain and international professional player, returns to the school with a blunt, stern demeanor to rebuild the program from the ground up. He challenges Hideto and his peers to face their insecurities and the shadows of the past. As Hideto joins the club alongside the talented Subaru Kurokawa and the energetic Jō Kazama, the team must navigate intense internal conflicts and the crushing weight of their school's legendary legacy. The conflict explores Hideto's trauma regarding his former friend and his journey to rediscover the joy of the pitch. Together, the new Kakegawa team strives to prove that their era is just beginning, aiming for the nationals while facing formidable rivals who look down on their fallen status.
